Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your personal computer, through an Internet connection. The regulations are very simple and consist of the player trying to get the highest mixture of cards possible in order to acquire cash. In this respect it is much the same as a normal game of poker, apart from the involvement with other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A 5 card hand will be "handed out" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and bettors should now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the gambler would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the player has selected which cards she would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can range from game to game, so that experienced gamblers are able to select the most money-making machine each and every instance.
After the first round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Further, some versions of the game give the enthusiast an opportunity to double their winnings, in which situation a further round is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
