Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be played in casinos around the world, or alternatively at home on your computer, using a web connection. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to get the greatest mixture of cards possible in order to win money. On this account it is very similar as a classic game of poker, without the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the bettor has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be dealt if desired. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Generally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that knowledgeable enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most money-making machine each time.

Once the first round has completed, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that has been won. Additionally, some styles of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance another hand is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
